Finally, Mrs. Dawes's third grade class came to shop! Many third graders tried to negotiate prices, which was a good challenge for the second grader students. After the sale, the children counted their profits and reflected upon the process. They learned so much about producers, goods, and consumers!

Weekly Update 12/20/19
The students worked very hard to complete their preparations for Market Day! Their businesses were very successful, and some even sold out! Each team created a business sign to advertise their products. Some groups were also able to try creating a commercial video using Seesaw (we were a little rushed on these, due to the snow days). Each person on the team took on a role for the sale, including cashier and inventory manager. The teams set goals for how many goods they wanted to sell, and some teams even set products aside to donate to Long's Kindness Cart.

We had some holiday fun with a Mad Science assembly and a STEM challenge to create a parachute with a basket to help Santa after his sleigh broke down. Students worked in teams of two to plan and design their creations. Then, we tested them and had a 100% success rate of safe landings!
Enjoy winter break and I'll see everyone next year!
