Final Weekly Update 5/24/19

Image result for welcome to summer

We had a great final week of second grade! Each day students participated in various STEM activities. First, we had a paper airplane design competition.

Next, students had a bottle flipping challenge to see which level of water made the bottle have the most vertical landings.

Children worked in pairs to build new styles of bubble wands and made predictions on which would blow the biggest bubbles. Each pair included one 3D design. We found that cylinder shaped bubble wands are pretty amazing!

Finally, we learned about surface tension by testing how many drops of water we could fit on top of a penny.

Long's Got Talent featured many great acts by students from our class!

Here are some summer reading recommendations from the students. If your child is looking for a suggestion try something from this list. Don't forget about the County Library's Summer Reading Program as well. Happy reading!
