Weekly Update 2/1/20

Students are putting their final touches on their social studies projects. This week, they will practice presenting their projects to each other in order to prepare for their Native American Museum presentation to 1st grade students on Wednesday.

The children are continuing to study characters in reading. This past week, we examined a character's feelings. Students noticed how a character's feelings can change throughout a story. In writing, students created sections in their books for a Table of Contents and About the Author page. They also worked with their writing partners to revise and edit their books.

We are approaching the end of Chapter 7 in math. Students have been working on subtraction problems that require more than one step of regrouping. They have also been working more with word problems. This week will will learn how to subtract across zeros. Then, we will review and have a test at the end of the week. Please watch for review pages to be coming home soon.
