Check out these smiling faces of our new 2nd graders!
Students filled bags with special items from home to share with each other. We learned that many people already had things in common with each other, like playing chess and building with Legos.
The students practiced their creativity and teamwork skills by having to make the longest paper chain with only two pieces of construction paper, a pair of scissors, and 12 inches of tape. I was impressed at how they designed ways to hold the chain links together without using tape! I can tell they are going to be great problem solvers.
The children rotated around the room to answer different questions about how our classroom should be this year. We will use their answers to help write our classroom mission statement and rules.
