School Lunch Menus are available online this year from the district's webpage under the "Parents" tab. Please click this link to see the current menu.
Our block schedule is below. Please make sure students wear tennis shoes on P.E. days.
A = Music
B = P.E.
C = Art
D = P.E.
Eclipse Day is on Monday. An email was sent out Friday with more details. Parents who would like to attend are invited to join us from 12:50 - 1:30 PM. Please note, Monday will be a "no letter day". We will resume the block schedule rotation on Tuesday with a "C" day. We are looking forward to an exciting day!
2nd Grade Curriculum Night is on Tuesday from 7:00 - 7:45 PM in our classroom, room 11.
Green Flyer Folders - The students all brought home their green folders on Friday. These folders will be sent home each day, and need to be returned to school the following day. One side of the folder is labeled "Right back to school" for any items that need to be returned to me or the office, such as transportation notes, signed permission slips, etc. The other side of the folder is labeled "Left at home". Items in this pocket are from the students' mailboxes in class and will usually consist of fliers from the office or completed classwork. These items do not need to be returned. Please check your child's folder daily. Mailbox items will be sent home on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Fidgets - Items such as fidget spinners, fidget cubes, and putty have become popular. I politely request you do not send these items to school with your child. I do have school appropriate fidget tools available for students who benefit from them. I am also hopeful our flexible seating options will be an additional support for students to do their best learning. Thank you for your cooperation with this matter.
Class Updates:
We had so much fun the first two days of school!
We read a book called First Day Jitters and learned that everyone can be nervous sometimes. Students then drew a picture and wrote about a time they had the jitters. Ask your child to tell you about the story.
The students and I worked together to discuss how we want our classroom to be this year. The children wrote their ideas on sticky notes to help create our rules and mission statement.
Mrs. Robb stopped by to read the class a story. She will be helping our class during reading this year. I can tell we already have some eager readers in our room!
