Weekly Update 12/15/18

The students had a busy week getting ready for Market Day in social studies. They started the week by working in their teams to choose a business name, design a logo, and create a slogan. Most of the rest of the week was spent producing their goods so they will be ready to "sell" to Mrs. Dawes's third grade class. At the end of the week the teams worked on more advertising by creating their storefront signs. I wish I had a chance to get more pictures, but I was a busy production assistant to the teams. Lots of pictures to come next week!

We have wrapped up a long non-fiction reading unit, with special emphasis on locating text-evidence. The children are also working hard to make a published copy of one of their opinion letters in writing so that they will be able to celebrate and share their work with each other.

In math, we are reviewing Chapter 4 and will have a test on Tuesday. Students should have brought home review pages to help them study. Practicing their addition and subtraction facts will also help them be successful on the test.
